Travel Information

The airport of preference for Caliente Caribe is Puerto Plata (POP) and Samana (AZS). Guests choosing to use Santiago (STI) or Santo Domingo (SDQ) can expect an additional 3 to 5 hours travel time each way plus an additional transfer fee will apply. Please contact our reservations department for current transfer fees when using these airports.

Direct service to Puerto Plata is available from most European countries, several U.S. and Canadian cities and San Juan Puerto Rico. Contact your travel agent for flight information and further details.

Travel Documents, Entry Fee and Departure Tax

United States and Canadian citizens will be admitted to the Dominican Republic with a valid Passport or an embossed birth certificate plus one other form of picture identification such as a drivers license.

A visa is not required before arrival. Citizens of other countries should contact their local Dominican Consulate for specific entry requirements. Visitors must purchase a Tourist Card in the amount of $10.00 US per person before clearing immigration.

Important!

Passports are now required to re-enter the USA!

Airport Arrival

On arrival at Puerto Plata or Samana airports visitors will clear immigration, claim luggage, clear customs and exit the terminal. At the exit from customs is the taxi and hotel shuttle area.

A Caliente Caribe representative will be holding a sign and will be expecting you (if we have your travel plans). The drive to the resort is 1 hour 15 minutes.
